Burdekin Family History Inc. Project for Centenary of Home Hill 2011 – 2012

The Burdekin Family History Group will produce a Centenary Booklet to remember the men and women who went off to war from the Home Hill district. From World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam and more recent conflicts, many young people from this district have given the best years of their lives in service to their country. Some of our pioneer settlers may even have been involved in the Boer War.

To produce the booklet, the Burdekin Family History Group is searching for a photo to place beside each entry and is calling on relatives or friends of these service men and women to assist with information and

pictures.

Several families have already come forward with family memorabilia, but there are many stories that have never been told. Now may be the time to record such memories. Lest we forget.

Photos and other material may be left at Ayr or Home Hill Libraries, where they will be placed in secure envelopes for copying and safe return.

Do you know any of these people? Do you have a photograph or a story?
